WhatsApp To Introduce Fingerprint Feature
WhatsApp is currently working on a feature that will enable users authenticate chat activities via the use of fingerprint.
The set feature will allow users protect their in-app chat histories and conversations with their biometric fingerprints.
Features
- To enable the fingerprint feature, one would have to enable it in the user/privacy settings menu to check on
- The feature secures the app entirely, not chats
- Once turned on, you would have to unlock via FP
- Contingently, one would be required to use digit PIN asides the fingerprint
- This feature would only work on fingerprint enabled Smartphones (must have fingerprint scanner)
- It requires Android marshmallow versions or later/newer versions
After several reports stating that WhatsApp is creating a Face ID and Touch ID security feature for iPhones, such added layers will enable users authenticate their chats.
At the moment, we can't possibly give a specific date for the scheduled update, but all there is to know is that is update is coming sooner than expected.

How It Works
If you're using a fingerprint enabled smartphone and in it you're using a fingerprint lock app, the new WhatsApp fingerprint update wouldn't surprise you.

Note: This is just an illustration of how is it intended to work, this not the real update.
You can find the fingerprint feature in the WhatsApp 2.19.3 beta version.
The stable version would soon be released to the entire public after other bug fixes like stickers and voice recording.
