WhatsApp To Introduced Ads Soon

WhatsApp for the past 9 years has successfully gone on without ads (advertisements), but things are about to change as Facebook is planning on monetize the chat app.

In 2014, WhatsApp was  acquired by Facebook for $19 billion and from then on i had this conviction that the freeware messenger was going to be monetized by Facebook, one way or the other.

Ideally, I'd say a monthly or yearly subscription service would be pleasing to me other than ads, but in a way ads would help businesses campaign better.

WhatsApp vice president, Chris Daniels  confirmed the news about ads coming to the chat app. The ads would appear in the status column. If you're quite conversant with Instagram status ads you will definitely understand how this is going to work; after a few slides then pops an Ad from publishers.

The status ads would be a primary monetization mode for the company,  and for businesses to reach people on the platform. Well for now we don't know when the ads will start rolling, but we are certain about its arrival, I'm guessing next year.
Facebook’s native ads system would reportedly be served as the backbone for ads publishing in WhatsApp.

Nevertheless I'll hope to believe that WhatsApp would not compromise with its end to end encryption and pull off user's data.

Sadly enough, WhatsApp's co-founder Brain Acton reportedly left the company because he became uncomfortable with the new change. He had envisioned WhatsApp to be the "911 of the internet" a free messaging service.
