Chrome OS 70 Soon To Be Released, Expect A Floating Keyboard, New UI
Earlier this month Chrome 70 was rolled out for Android and Desktop users. Now the time is here for Chromebook users to get that juicy update.
This was announced on Chrome blog on the 26th of this month.
Here's What To Expect
- An improved redesigned UI (Tablet themed) probably material design
- Support for android app shortcuts.
- A Floating Gboard
One major thing we should keep at heart is that Chromebook is getting a more Android feel with this incoming update.

You can now add shortcuts to your homescreen, right clicking or double tapping will solve this riddle.
More so, a floating Google keyboard (Gboard) with fascinating functions like handwriting and an emoji support is also coming in the next update in a few days.

Some Other Features
- Allow users to enable Autofill separately for payment methods and addresses.
- Users will be able to add a search field to the text-to-speech settings page in accessibility settings
- You now get to restrict extensions to sites of your own choosing
I feel like porting from my current OS to Chromebook OS because of the new Android feel, but i think i might have to wait for a bigger update to clearly change my mind. Before then, I'll be loving from afar.
