5 Popular Paid Apps For PC And Their Free Alternatives

" There's always a way " A popular quote i sometimes mutter when things seems to go haywire.

So if your thinking that your popular paid apps e.g Adobe Photoshop are the only alternatives then you're wrong. There are open source apps out there that serves as alternatives to the paid ones when there isn't enough funds to secure them, especially for us students.

Here's a Quick one...

1. Adobe Photoshop:
This one needs no intro though, it's a
Software for composing and creating raster images in layering format. Simply for photo editing and deep manipulation.

ALTERNATIVE:

Gimp: Free/Open source vector imaging editor. It's really free, you can substitute it for Photoshop and carry out with your work.

2. Microsoft Office:
As the name implies, it's a software for calculating, computing, slides presenting, word processing, imputing spreadsheets and so many more. MS Office is one of the most popular apps ever, with subsets like Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. well it's not free doesn't mean that we wouldn't carry out office functions altogether.

ALTERNATIVE
OpenOffice and LibreOffice.
Both apps are very free and they're open sourced. They too possess similar functions to MS Word.

3. Virtual DJ
Needs no introduction for the deejay's.
For mixing, scratching and other Disk Jocking functions, i strongly recommend this app. But if you don't wanna scratch the surface by toiling with your savings you can try...

ALTERNATIVE.

MIXXX is my best alternative to Virtual DJ.
It's still free and open source.

4. Windows OS
The four squared boxes Windows is kinda expensive in this part of the world. Its the most used OS for PCs all over the world. You can't buy the disk? Shouldn't be problem

ALTERNATIVE
Ubuntu: Based on Linux kernel, it's an operating system that's open source and free. The UI/UX is too classy and clean, it looks expensive but free, they're mainly preferred by programming geeks because of it's apt abilities

5. WinRAR
Also another popular app for opening digital archives such as RAR, zip, 7z, etc.
Well if you don't like the price, you can as well go for the free one...

ALTERNATIVE

7zip: it does virtually the same things that winRAR would do but with no pricetags.

Thanks!
