Dear Fans,

By now many of you are already very familiar with our Mi Explorer programme. This project aims to thank our global fans for their constant support by letting them try our latest devices in exchange for their best reviews, photos and videos. 

Last summer we added a twist to our Mi Explorer adventure by not only providing our fans with our latest flagship, but we flew them to Spain to attend our global product launch and we had the time of our lives!

Now to kick off 2019 in style and keep up with our fans expectations, we are taking this edition of Mi Explorers to the next level, offering triple the surprises! 

Can’t reveal them all at once, but to give you the first look into what we are preparing, we happily announce that we will select 20 outstanding Mi Fans to travel to Barcelona from 23th - 26th February to attend the Mobile World Congress for FREE!

Mi Explorers Activity Rules

Mi Explorers will be held from 6:00 am 22nd of January 2019 to 27 of January 2019 23:59 pm local time.

Users be asked to submit a photo taken by a Xiaomi phone and leave a comment on why they need to be selected as a Mi Explorer.

Mi Explorer Requirements:

  (i) The organizer will choose 20 winning participants based on factors (including but not limited to) the quality of the photo and comment submitted, influence among Mi Fans, how active they are on Mi Community, ability to write good content, video and photo skills and willingness to cooperate with the organizer.

  

  (ii) a. the participant shall guarantee that the photo submitted is his original work and will not infringe the rights of any third parties, including but not limited to intellectual property rights, portrait rights, etc. 

      b.The photographs submitted shall not harm the dignity or interests of any country; do not contain any state secrets, personal privacy content, obscenity, pornography, gambling, superstition, terror, violence content; do not contain ethnic, racial, religious, or gender discrimination content; do not contain false or misleading content.  

  (iii)  Photos submitted will be reviewed and evaluated by the organizer daily after submission. The organizer will inform the chosen participants before 29th january, 2019 local Spain time in batches.

  (iv)  The chosen participants must confirm and submit required materials within the stipulated time stated in the invitation email.

  (v)  No monetary cost is needed to register for the "Mi Explorers MWC" program. Every participant can only register once. As no personal particulars can be changed after submitting registration, please make sure that all submitted information is correct.

  (vi) a. All selected participants must get the Schengen VISA on their own to travel to Spain. Failure to do so will disqualify them from the program.

       b. All selected participants need to be over 18 years old.

  (vii)  The organizer will cover costs of:

-One round-trip flight ticket to Barcelona from 23 to 26 February 2019.

-3 nights accommodation in Terrassa, Barcelona.

-Transportation pick-up/drop from the airport to hotel and from hotel to the Explorer’s activities venues.

-Travel insurance. 

All other costs incurred during the trip will need to be covered by selected participants.

1. Organizer and Activity Regions

(i)  This event is organised by Xiaomi Communications Co., Ltd, which is hereinafter referred to as “organizer”.

(ii)  This event is open to all users based in Spain, France, Italy, UK, Poland and Ukraine.

2. Winner Selection

Chosen participants (hereinafter referred to as “Winners”) selected by the organizer will be awarded a round-way trip to Barcelona, Spain from winners’ departure city from 23rd February to 26 February 2019 for a total of 4 days and 3 nights. The organizer will bear the following fees:

  (i)  One round-way economy class flight ticket for the winners from their departure city to Barcelona, Spain.

  (ii)  Accommodation for 3 nights. Winners will stay together in a double-room apartment with other winners segregated based on their gender.

  (iii)  Travel insurance cost from chosen participants’ departure city to Barcelona, Spain for the events’ duration.

Winners must abide by the schedule of events and cooperate with the organizers. In exception of the expenses mentioned as above, all other costs incurred during the trip will need to be covered by winners. The schedule of this event is as follows:

Feb 23: Arrival from departure city to Barcelona, Spain

Feb 24: Participate in activities organized by the organizer

Feb 25: Follow the organizer’s staff to MWC

Feb 26: Return to winners’ departure city

3. Redemption Method

  (i) The organizer will announce the list of winners in Mi Community and Xiaomi’s social media channels on 28th January 2019, local time  and will contact the winners by email on the same day. Winners must reply and confirm their relevant information within the stipulated date of the email. The organizer will subsequently book air tickets, accommodations and insurance based on information provided by the winners. Failure to receive relevant information for the above-mentioned tasks by the organizer will be deemed that the winner has give up the right to claim his chosen spot for Mi Explorer and has waived his position in his or her participation in Barcelona, Spain. The organizer will not assume any responsibility in the case of the above- mentioned event.

  (ii) All personal information collected will only be used for insurance purchase, air-ticket and hotel booking for this event only and will be kept confidential in compliance with all applicable laws. 

4. Additional Notes

  (i)  The rules of this event can be found here:

- The photo submitted by the applicant should be his/her own, no copyright infringement will be tolerated. 

- Each participant can only submit one photo 

- All selected Mi Explores will have to submit the original photo file to corroborate it was taken by a Xiaomi phone. 

- The organizer will choose the winning participants based on different factors including (but not limited to) their personality, influence among Mi Fans, loyalty, ability to write good content, photo and video skills and willingness to cooperate with the organizer.

- The organizer will inform the chosen participants before 29th January, 2019 via email. 

- The chosen participants must confirm and submit required materials within the stipulated time stated in the invitation email.

- Xiaomi will cover the cost of MWC entrance pass, however the participant must do its own registration online and finalise it before departing to Barcelona. 

- No extra cost is needed to register for the "Mi Explorers MWC" programme. Every participant can only register once. As no personal particulars can be changed after submitting registration, please make sure that all submitted information is correct.

- All selected participants must get the Schengen Visa to travel to Spain on their own. Failing to do so will disqualify them from the program.

  (ii) The organizer reserves the right to replace the prizes with products or services that are approximately of equal monetary value in the case where accidents happen due to unforeseen circumstances. Prizes won in this competition cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred or resold.

  (iii)  Organizer will not bear any responsibility if there are damages or losses during the collection and use of prizes by winners.

  (iv)  For the sake of fairness, only individual consumers are allowed to participate in this event. The following entities are not allowed to take part in the competition: including but not be limited to Xiaomi staffs, event organizers and their employees, distributors and their employees.

  (v)  The organizer will provide the necessary explanation of the rules of the competition to the extent permitted by law. In the case of force majeure, Xiaomi reserves the right to cancel the competition.
